Online Jazz Piano Lessons in English
I teach jazz piano online, one to one, over Zoom. I’ve been teaching for 30 years, and my approach is built on the Barry Harris method: understanding how jazz harmony works, so you can play it and not just memorise it.

Let’s meet first. We talk, you play a little, and we see where you are and what would help you most. No commitment.
I reply personally to every message, usually within 24 hours.
How the lessons work
- Private lessons, 60 minutes, on Zoom.
- Lessons are in English.
- We agree on a regular day and time that suits us both. I’m based in Greece, so I’ll find a time that works with your time zone.
- I record the highlights and key points of each lesson and send them to you, so you have a clear reference for your practice until the next one.
- You also get notes and study material for each topic.
What we work on
- Jazz standards: how to study and analyse a tune
- Harmony and voice leading in a practical context
- Voicings, based on Barry Harris’s 6th-chord system
- Improvisation over forms
- Comping, rhythm and phrasing
- Building your own repertoire
The lessons follow your level, from beginner to advanced. Many of my students come from classical piano.

Cancellations
If you need to cancel, let me know at least 24 hours before. We then move the lesson to another free slot within four weeks. With less notice, the lesson counts as taken. If I need to cancel, we reschedule within four weeks.
Questions
What level do I need?
Any level, from beginner to advanced. We start from where you are.
Do I need a piano at home?
Yes. An acoustic piano or a digital piano with weighted keys. For beginners, a good 88-key keyboard is fine.
I’ve only played classical. Can I start jazz?
Yes. Many of my students come from classical training. If you want to read ahead, start with my article on Barry Harris theory.
What about time zones?
I’m in Greece. We find a regular time that works for both of us.
